Our Cottage is committed to providing compassionate care for seniors — whether they’re navigating memory-related challenges or simply need extra support in daily life.

Our experienced team focuses on individualized care that preserves dignity, promotes independence, and brings meaningful moments to each day.

Safe, Supportive & Home-Like

We believe a sense of security is key to well-being. Each of our homes features secure entryways, peaceful outdoor spaces, and private resident rooms — all designed to feel more like home than a facility.

This warm setting is especially important for residents receiving memory care, where comfort and routine matter most.

With intentionally small, boutique-style communities, we foster a close-knit environment that feels like family.

Whether a resident joins us for assisted living, recovery, or memory care, our focus remains the same: building connection, trust, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Compare The Costs of Senior Living vs Staying at Home

About Us

Our Cottage is a family-owned and operated business that runs with the professionalism and systems of a large organization—but the heart of a home in Texas.

We come to the senior living industry from a real estate background. For years, we’ve been landlords and property developers, with a strong focus on building and maintaining homes that serve families well. Along the way, we encountered many residential assisted living homes—and what we saw left a lasting impact. Too many were outdated, poorly maintained, and lacking the warmth and dignity our seniors deserve.

We knew we could do better.

So we set out to become not just another operator—but an exemplary one. We assembled a team of professionals with the medical, operational, and hospitality experience needed to create something better: small, beautiful homes where care feels personal, the atmosphere feels peaceful, and the environment supports dignity every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is daily life like at Our Cottage?

Life at Our Cottage moves at an easy, comfortable pace — much like home. Mornings begin with the smell of breakfast cooking in the kitchen, caregivers chatting softly as they help Residents start the day. Each person has their own routine — some enjoy coffee and conversation early, while others wake slowly and ease into the morning.

Our homes are small and personal, so life never feels scheduled or institutional. The rhythm of the house follows the Residents, not the other way around.

What kind of meals do you serve?

Meals are freshly prepared each day and designed by a geriatric nutritionist to meet the needs of older adults.

· Breakfasts are home-cooked in the home each morning.

· Lunch and dinner are chef-prepared off-site and delivered fresh daily (Friday’s delivery includes the weekend).

· Snacks, fruits, and beverages are available anytime.

We collaborate with families to accommodate preferences, special diets, and favorite comfort foods — because meals are about more than nourishment; they’re moments of joy and connection.

Who provides medical care for Residents?

Families may choose their own healthcare providers.

For those who prefer coordinated in-home medical support, Our Cottage proudly partners with Peak Medical Associates (PIC) — a trusted local group offering 24/7 support lines, telehealth access, and in-person visits as needed.

PIC works with most major insurance plans and includes specialists in cardiology, psychiatry, podiatry, wound care, and geriatric internal medicine.

Enrollment with PIC is completely optional — available for convenience, but never required. Families may continue using their preferred physicians or other providers at any time.

What is your caregiver-to-resident ratio?

During the day, our average caregiver-to-resident ratio is 1 to 4, which is as close to one-on-one care as you can find in assisted living. At night, we maintain a 1:8 ratio (or 1:4 in higher-acuity homes).

Because of this small scale, our caregivers truly get to know each Resident — their habits, moods, and comfort needs — and relationships form naturally. It’s warm, attentive, and deeply personal care, never rushed.

What kind of staff do you have?

Our caregivers are all background-checked, trained, CPR-certified, and supervised by our RN. They receive ongoing education in dementia care, emergency preparedness, and medication management.

Many of them stay with us for years and become part of the family — offering companionship, laughter, and stability to our Residents.

What types of activities do you offer?

We believe engagement is essential to wellbeing. Our Cottage employs a Life Enrichment Coordinator who plans weekly programs that bring variety, creativity, and joy to each home— from art, music, and movement to themed socials, holiday events, and gentle sensory activities.

Throughout the week, our caregiving team continues many of these activities daily, keeping the homes lively and connected.

We also host chair yoga, memory games, and volunteer visits. Most importantly, we follow the natural rhythm of each Resident’s day — offering gentle encouragement, but never pressure. Life here is full of meaning, warmth, and choice.

What does “all-inclusive” mean?

It means there are no hidden fees or hourly care charges. Every Resident receives:

· Help with bathing, dressing, and daily routines

· Medication management

· Laundry, housekeeping, and linen service

· 24-hour care and supervision

· Three daily meals plus snacks

· Routine RN oversight

For Residents who need more support (two-person assist, mechanical lift, or advanced memory care), an Enhanced Care Add-On (up to $3,500/month) ensures extra staffing and supervision.

Are your homes licensed for memory care?

Yes. Our Cottage homes are licensed by the State of Texas as Type B Assisted Living and also hold specialized Memory Care Certification through HHSC. This allows us to safely care for Residents with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive conditions who need structured, secure environments.

Are you a medical facility?

No — Our Cottage is a home, not an institution. But thanks to our partnership with Peak Medical Associates and our RN-led care team, Residents receive ongoing medical oversight and support as needed — always with warmth, respect, and dignity.
